Andrea Gbotoe-Talbott, LMSW-P, is a trauma-informed therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges through compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centered care. She earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Interpersonal Integrated Health & Substance Abuse from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in April 2026. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management & Human Services from SUNY Empire State College, earned in January 2016, providing her with a strong foundation in healthcare systems, behavioral health, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
As a United States Army Veteran, Andrea brings a unique perspective rooted in resilience, service, and advocacy. Her military experience, combined with more than a decade of professional experience across behavioral health, healthcare administration, crisis intervention, disability services, care coordination, and community-based support, has shaped her commitment to helping individuals overcome adversity and achieve meaningful personal growth.
Andrea currently provides behavioral health crisis intervention through a statewide behavioral health help line, where she conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments, suicide risk and safety evaluations, crisis de-escalation, care coordination, and resource navigation for individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and psychosocial challenges. She has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including Veterans, individuals living with disabilities, and those facing complex behavioral health and life stressors.
Andrea's therapeutic approach is collaborative, strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. She believes that healing begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered. She works alongside each individual to identify personal strengths, build effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, substance use, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, relationship concerns, chronic illness, and supporting Veterans and military-connected individuals. Andrea is passionate about creating an inclusive, judgment-free environment where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward improved emotional well-being.
