Dr. Patricia DeJesus received her Doctorate degree from Capella University and her Master’s Degree from Fordham University. Dr. DeJesus has over 30 years of experience as a social worker in various settings. She has worked for behavioral health, hospitals, human services, OCFS Detention Center, and social services.
Dr. DeJesus has worked with adults, children, couples, teens, young adults, seniors, and siblings. Her specialty practice is working with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, low self-esteem, family issues, grief/loss, domestic violence, sexual assault, suicidal ideations, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. With children, her specialty practice revolves around ADHD, conduct disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. Her approach is from a Trauma Informed Care lens. Some of the treatment modalities used are Applied Behavior Analysis, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Play Therapy, Solution Focus, and Trauma Focused CBT, (TF-CBT).
Dr. DeJesus has an enthusiasm for clinical work and views herself as a change agent. Her passion is to reach, reconcile, and restore those who are seeking help. Dr. DeJesus’ treatment is based on a mutual understanding, respect, and trust. She is committed to providing a warm approach in a confidential and compassionate setting.
